"Things I Like About Me"

It's Monday. You're diving back into the grind. Your to-do list is fresh and ready to execute. Consider adding a "Things I Like About Me" list to the opposite side of your to-do list. Why? Because it can be more empowering than the to-do list. We're caught up in striking items off our list that have very little to do with our actual character or self-esteem. Things are going to change thanks to the inspiration of C.Mom, a truly beautiful woman with a commitment to reminding others that we are "ENOUGH just the way we are."

When thinking about things she likes about herself, here's what she wrote (as you read, see if you make any connections): "The more and and more I thought about it, the more I realized that I do a pretty bang up job of thinking about the things I perceive as negatives about myself and a pretty poor job thinking about my positives."

Then, she made a list; a "Things I Like About ME" list. And it was tough, because it's easier to be hard on ourselves then compliment ourselves. But a beautiful thing happened as she jotted her list, she felt taller, more confident. "And truly, we are not talking just an ounce of added self confidence….we are talking pounds.  And these are pounds that I am willing to lug around any day of the week."

Now it's your turn to pat yourself on the back. Add the weight of self-confidence to your shoulders, it actually makes you stand a little taller. What's on your "Things I Like About Me" List?

You can jot them here in comments, there in the comments, or travel over to the C.Mom blog to see the 90 beautiful bloggers who linked their blog in honor of "Things I Like About Me".  Thanks for the inspiration, C.Mom!

Now it's your turn; start your list...

  1. OK... I am making my list and checking it twice...or maybe three times to see if I can add at least one more item. Thanks for helping us see the best in ourselves, it is ...easier to see the best others since you are less judgmental.
