October Brings SO Much Beautiful!

When it comes to seeing beautiful, one of the most wonderful parts of what we get to do is support wonderful Non-Profit organizations. This month we continue to celebrate the work of thoughtful people who are committed to making this world a better place. See Beautiful is thrilled to name (drum roll please!) the Helen Ross McNabb Center for Children and Youth Services our October Non-Profit of the Month in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month!

Why is Helen Ross McNabb Child and Youth Services so important?
"Mental illness affects 10% of children and adolescents in the United States. Many of these children experience some difficulty as they grow from infancy to adolescence. These difficulties can cause behavioral problems, anxiety, depression, uncontrollable anger and even suicidal thoughts and behaviors. Additionally some children need help after experiencing trauma in their life and have much to gain by receiving early intervention and adequate care when facing these struggles.

Mental illness is everyone’s concern because it does not discriminate. People of all races, incomes and ages realize that mental health disorders are real health problems that have an immense impact on individuals, families and communities. The good news is mental illness can be diagnosed and treated. Early identification and treatment is critical to minimizing harm related to an illness. Furthermore, access to care is proven to accelerate recovery and equip individuals with needed resources to manage a mental illness."

How are the wonderful people at Helen Ross McNabb seeing beautiful in their support of Children and Youth?
"In East Tennessee, 71,000 children have a diagnosable mental illness. Children are our most precious resource and here at the Helen Ross McNabbCenter we strive to provide children and their families with the mental health and addictions services they need in all stages of childhood, adolescence and young adulthood. The earlier problems are diagnosed and treated the greater the likelihood of the child becoming a healthy productive adult. Our children and youth services are designed to focus on the child at every stage of development and help strengthen and support families.  Our goal is simply to improve the lives of the people we serve. Last year, the Center served more than 4,000 children in East Tennessee."

How is See Beautiful supporting Helen Ross McNabb's Child and Youth Services
In the spirit of seeing beautiful, we will donate a portion of proceeds from every sale to this wonderful organization. When you think about the many wonderful services provided for children and youth, it stems well beyond foster care OR homeless outreach. They're doing so much to improve the lives of so many and we can't wait to celebrate that with them throughout October. Our thinking, check out our See Beautiful products and choose one (or more) items that you want to own, knowing a portion of your purchase is making a big difference in the lives of many deserving children and youth.
