It's a Beautiful Day

Picture

BEAUTIFUL DAY by U2

"It's a beautiful day. Don't let it slip away." No, really, it's a beautiful day. Do you see it? Do you feel it? Don't let this moment go by. There's beauty out there. Seek it. Find it. Finders, keepers.

U2's song invites us to see beautiful around the world. It references sites many of us would love to see (ex. "China right in front of you," "Bedouin fires at night," "canyons broken by the clouds"). Those places and sights are beautiful, right? But then we reflected more deeply. The beautiful day is all around us, but also happening around the world. True, there's beauty in the closest proximity to each of us; however, there's also great comfort in understanding the beauty that's simultaneously occurring around the world at this very moment.

How are we seeing beautiful today? Well, it is a beautiful day.

  1. We often tend to see the beautiful at the other side of the world, but right now, where we are, if we open our eyes, we can see it. And by itself it's a beautiful vision to have!
