“When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, ‘Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.’ To this day, especially in times of ‘disaster,’ I remember my mother’s words, and I am always comforted by realizing that there are still so many helpers - so many caring people in this world.” — Mister Rogers
Out of tragedy come beautiful. Out of the helpless feeling so many grappled with around the tragic Sandyhook ES Shooting, we asked, "What can we do?" And opportunities to see beautiful sprung like wild flowers blooming in the spring. When Ann Curry shared the invitation to commit 26 acts of kindness in honor of each life lost, it reminded us of the beautiful quote from Mr. Rogers above. There is no doubt that there is sadness and devastation and loss and heartache because of the horrific events that unfolded on December 14th in Newtown, CT. There is also no denying so much kindness is being designed now because of it. In this "Seeing Beauty" in this moment, we invite you to create it. Twenty-six times over. It is "something you can do." And it is beautiful.

Oh yes. Earlier this week when my MOM was starting to prepare for her message this Sunday she decided to use what Ann Curry said and it will be the focal point of her message.
