"In the spring, at the end of the day, you should smell like dirt." ~ Margaret Atwood
The first day of Spring is a perfect time to take a few minutes (or hours) and appreciate the outdoors. Tiny leaf buds are poking from winter-long empty branches. Flowers are peeking from the ground. The warmth is playing a nice game of hide-and-seek that you're winning with each passing day. It seems like everything is coming back to life. What a perfect time to make sure you're enjoying it. Seeing it. Celebrating it. And creating more of it.
Spring is the perfect time to get your hands dirty. Plant something. Grow something. Prune something. And if you're not the "get your hands dirty" type of person, you can do the same kind of planting, growing, and pruning internally on yourself.
Plant the effort to see beautiful in others in your heart. Grow more positive thinking in your mind. Prune away those distracting thoughts of negativity and doubt from your day. Who knows, maybe all that hard work will leave you smelling like dirt too? Er, uh, likely it will not.
Happy first day of Spring! See beautiful in dirt (and everything else, really)!
I love Spring. All that new and fresh life out there. Beautiful!
