As Seen On TV

If you've stayed up past 12:00 a.m. it's likely you've had the pleasure of being exposed to the uncanny, yet interesting, infomercials that dare us to pick up the phone and order their unneeded products. A little insomnia can be enlightening if it offers an open door into the wild world of infomercials and products that really do exist out there.

Here are some that we thought might make you chuckle (and if you own one of these, please don't be offended. It's actually a testament to the fact that we make really interesting decisions when we lose sleep. See beautiful in it.):

  • A President Obama Chia Pet (we're not kidding)
  • The Instant Fisherman: The instant fisherman is a compact collapsible fishing pole. With the instant fisherman you can go fishing anytime with this instant rod. (because that's what you need if you're not sleeping)
  •  Melt It Off (Claim that pounds melt off in three days. Like butter? Where does it go?)
  • Walk Fit (Offers foot support and kills germs and odor. How?)
  • Shoes Under: Stores 12 pairs of shoes under your bed. (If 12 pairs can fit, couldn't they have gotten there without "shoe under"?)
  • Stop Smoking Hypnosis Program (Maybe this could help with sleeping? )
And as if that wasn't enough, we've got Ellen highlighting some stellar infomercial products as well. Who can't see beautiful when you combine Ellen AND infomercial products:

How are we seeing beautiful? Well, our world's been expanded. Next time you catch yourself drawn into an infomercial product, think about how its really expanding your world. And that, along with the product, should make you smile (and if you're dialing the 1-800-number for the product, you should totally laugh outloud while doing so).
