Poetry Bombing

Yeah, we're dropping the poetry bomb to help you see more beautiful today.

The original poetry bomber? Agustina Woodgate, hailing from Buenos Aires, currently playing in Miami Thrift Stores.

What's she dropping? Poems. Poems that Woodgate sews into clothes in thrift stores. According to Woodgate, "Sewing poems in clothes in a way is giving the garments a voice. We are in relation -- with others, with things, with the world. This being-in-relation, is a way of perceiving, a mode of moving, a narrative of global truths designed by cultural fictions. Sewing poems in clothes is a way of bringing poetry to everyday life just by displacing it, by removing it from a paper to integrate it and fuse it with our lives. Sometimes little details are stronger when they are separated from where they are expected to be."

See Agustina Woodgate "poetry bombing" in action:

Our first question, who knew needles and thread could be SO beautiful!?!?! Her point: You come in contact with beautiful words in the least expected places.

Your task: Next time you visit your local thrift store, peek between the racks. There could be a person sewing happiness into your next great "find" and for that we see beautiful!
