Pay It Forward: Scatter Beautiful

Ralph Waldo Emerson said, "Scatter joy." We say, "Scatter beautiful." Perhaps they're one in the same. We scatter so others feel more joyful, more beautiful. The more joy or beauty one feels the more likely they are to scatter it themselves, alas, paying it forward becomes cyclical.

How might you scatter beautiful this weekend? Let's see if we can help (though we'd love your input too):
  • Smile.
  • Give.
  • Laugh with another.
  • Stop at a lemonade stand.
  • Leave your change for the person after you in a store.
  • Drop a kind note for a friend.
  • Offer to cook a meal for someone.
  • Cut fresh flowers from your yard (if you have them) and share with a neighbor.
  • Give you puppy belly rubs.
  • Share a compliment with a stranger.
  • Leave an extra scrumptious tip.
  • Let someone cut in line.
  • Carry someone's groceries.
  • Hold open a door.
  • Allow another to go first.
  • Donate your unworn clothes.
  • Volunteer at a homeless shelter.
  • Take dog food or treats to a pet shelter.
  • Check up on a old friend.
  • Find something on sale to give to another.
  • Buy the person next in line a coffee or tea.
  • Plant flowers.
  • Hug.
  • Love.
  • Believe in others.
  • Trust others.
  • See the best and beautiful in others.
  • Simply, see beautiful.
Other ways you'll be scattering beautiful this weekend? Oh, do tell...

  3. Listen, intently.  I, for one, talk too much.  That means the greatest gift I can give someone is my full attention, instead of my opinion.
    I LOVE seeing beautiful!
Peace and good, and happy weekend.

  5. I like this very much Miss Lydia, Scattering Beautiful.  If each person was like a Dandelion think how beautiful our world would be.  Beautiful seeds scattered everywhere.  And beautiful is very strong like the Dandelion.  How many times do you see them pushed up through walkways and concrete.  Their roots are deep and thick.  And it takes a whole lot to get rid of them.  I think of BEAUTFUL that way sometimes; when beauty takes hold it is very hard to get rid of. Have a BEAUTFUL weekend.
    Blessings,
    Goose

  6. What a beauty message - love your list of ideas and suggestions.  I recognize sometimes I think of scatter in not necessary a positive light --I am seeing it so differently in reading and thinking of this!  We spent the weekend working on beautifying our house/yard/ for our daughter's graduation celebration so ... Scattering Celebrating.  I was touched by the kindness scattered and shared her way.
