See Beautiful is thrilled to name (drum roll, please!) the World Bird Sanctuary as our August Non-Profit of the month!

When it comes to seeing beautiful, one of the most wonderful parts of what we get to do is raise awareness for, and donate to, wonderful non-profit organizations. August's featured non-profit of the month, the World Bird Sanctuary  leaves us completely inspired. We are honored and humbled to sponsor such an important non-profit organization whose commitment to "preserve the earth's biological diversity and secure the future of threatened bird species in their natural environment through education, propagation, field studies and rehabilitation" is changing the world. We have no doubt their work will leave you moved as well!

Why the World Bird Sanctuary?Nestled on over 305 acres of hardwood forest in Missouri, the World Bird Sanctuary is home to over 200 animals in their care. Committed to improving the world, everything from rehabilitation to a World Bird Sanctuary Hospital to releasing birds, mammals and reptiles back into the wild to propagation, the wonderful staff and volunteers model perfectly how to see and create more beautiful in the world. Beyond the incredible work they do with many species of birds, mammals and reptiles they're connecting with people too! Offering free admission to the public, people from around the world can visit the World Bird Sanctuary and explore the sanctuary and/or partake in one of their many events for the public.

How does the World Bird Sanctuary see & spread beautiful?
There are so many ways we're inspired by the kind, beautiful people at the World Bird Sanctuary and the myriad ways they see beautiful. Here are just a few:

  • Their Wildlife Hospital treats of 300 animals per year;
  • They support education the community through their sanctuary, fieldtrips, birdday parties, and homing pigeon releases;
  • They foster community outreach and development related to respect for animals through the sharing of enviro-education programs; and
  • They do so much beautiful work with volunteers committed to making the world a better place!

Throughout the month of August specifically, they're hosting their Birds in Concert! August 2, 9, 16, 23, & 30th from 7-8 pm community members can enjoy free concerts by the World Bird Sanctuary's in-house band, “The Raptor Project,” as they perform songs from their popular children’s environmental education CDs while birds fly just inches over your heads. Fun songs include “Turkey Named Fred”, “Roadkill Shiver”, “What’s the Matter”, “Animal Noises” and others. “Raptor Project” performances are followed by performances by local artists such as Javier Mendoza and others.
