Feeling Beautiful

The following* was shared by a beautiful woman who, while reading, thought of See Beautiful. We think you'll get the connection and hopefully enjoy reflecting on the way we're taking in the world to see and experience all the beauty that surrounds us and all the opportunities we have to create it.

"Helen Keller went for a walk with her friend in the springtime. Helen used her fingers to feel a slender birch tree and the vibrations of a bird singing on its limbs. She felt flowers and leaves begin to sprout. She felt the stones in a cool brook.

On their return she asked her friend who could see and hear what she had seen. “Nothing in particular,” she said. Helen found all around her persons who were blinder than she was. Few could really describe the face of a close friend."

What is beautiful around you that you might have glossed over? For example, we never viewed aluminum as beautiful until we hammered the letters "s-e-e b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l" into it. Now it has meaning that - we hope - inspires the hundreds who wear the bracelets to see and create more beautiful in themselves and the world everyday. running our fingers over the hammered letters, feeling each letter as a reminder to readjust the way we're embracing the world, is the stuff Helen Keller was referring too. Everything is beautiful, we just have to experience it that way.

  1. Last night after a very long and trying day for MOM when she came home we spent some time outside before she had to go in and finish some work. I stayed outside for a few moments longer. Long story short my paws got muddy. When I came in I got muddy paws prints all over the kitchen floor. When MOM came in the kitchen she sort of slumped with a sigh. I guess she was thinking "UGH now I need to clean this up." As she got out the mop I kept doing the happy dance all around her. Then she smiled and saw the paw prints as a beautiful thing. My "happy dance, glad I am with you, come on lets play" paw prints. Yep muddy paws are beautiful, MOM thinks so too. She just might have missed the beauty in those paw prints, glossed it over and mopped them right up. Glad she saw the beauty in it all and chased me around the house in a game of catch me if you can.
    Blessings,

  2. Woof! Woof! So TRUE ... everything is beautiful, got to experience it. We currently live in a place many refer to as a beautiful paradise. It's amazing to us that many of the permanent residents does not see it. It sadden us so much ...
On our walk yesterday, we saw several chickens (they got out of their compound). Tried to chase them but they are fast ... faster than my chipmunk friend Fred.
Happy Seeing Beauty. Lots of Golden Woofs

  3. Girl Friendship, last night and today, I had the opportunity to be with some fantastic women. Haven't conquered the world, set Olympic Records, discovered a disease ending drug, BUT who do offer their hearts, friendship, families and all they give to each other. We are so thankful for the beauty they possess and share on a daily basis.
