A Space to See Beautiful

For many people around the world September 11, 2001 changed their perspective on life. As we honor those who lost their lives at the hands of hatred, it is an opportunity to rethink a day that has us reflecting on  hatred, terror and sadness and see beautiful in the giving, loving, kindness that united people around the world. For in the face of pure, utter devastation, family, friends, and strangers joined together in a stand to show love, give from our heart, and share ferociously. For in the face of loss, heroes were born. In the face of sadness, selflessness gained a new facade. In the face of destruction, beauty was redefined in the form of support, hugs, water, shelter, and humbleness. In the face of darkness, people around the world chose to seek ways to make it better. This charge for seeing beautiful shapes us everyday. Today, we honor those who lost their lives and gave us the opportunity to see beautiful with a new definition built upon bravery, kindness, and faith.

Short and sweet: Thank you to those who serve. Those who give. Those who love. Thank you.

  3. I was reflecting this morning as we jogged up our street with flags lined along the street. You've put into words so beautifully. Thank you.
