Power? Potential? What do you see?

The following reflection was shared via our non-profit the Alonzo A. Crim Center for Urban Educational Excellence. It is written by the internationally acclaimed Dr. Venus E. Evans-Winters. The image and passage are inextricably linked together, as Dr. Evans-Winters shares how she sees beautiful power and how a large majority of society sees something else. The quote is an opportunity for us to define how we see beautiful and how we choose to continue creating it in the world. Power vs. Potential. See beautiful.
When I see a Black girl, I see power. You see potential. There is a difference.” ~Venus E. Evans-Winters, PhD
