The following is shared by our inspiring, world-changing non-profit of the month the Alonzo A. Crim Center for Urban Education Excellence. It is an inspiring reflection from a mom to her daughter. It left us moved. We hope it does the same for you.

"This is literally how I see beautiful in my newborn daughter Lola. While she was in the NICU after her birth, I was nearly constantly by her side for 9 days. It was very difficult for me as a parent to see her poked and prodded, crying through needle sticks every 3 hours. But it definitely made me treasure her more. This is the view from my eyes as I look down to her resting on my chest. This is exactly how I SEE beautiful."
